We have a few new surprises on the
GodTalk Radio Show this year, but one thing never changes: for two hours every Sunday night, Dave and I welcome Winnipeg's largest radio audience (and a growing audience on the world wide web) to an open and honest conversation about the living God. And while we're keeping it open and honest, we're also doing our best to keep it thought-provoking, controversial, and entertaining.
That said, the GodTalk Radio Show is more than an AM radio broadcast (or an internet stream). It's a spiritual simulcast. People turn on their radios and start tuning into the Spirit. They hear strange, new sounds -- something they haven't heard before. They start singing along. They start dancing to a different beat. Things change. The Acts of the Apostles calls this "repentance that leads to life" (ch. 11.18). While Dave and I don't make this simulcast happen, we love it when it does. (And we're tuning in too.)
A face for radio.
Someday, broadcasts will be full, five-sensory experiences: sound, sight, smell, taste, and touch. For now, we've got mono-sensory and bi-sensory broadcasting: radio and television. Because we're a radio show, our listeners have to fill in the blanks for four of their five senses and that leads to interesting results! This week, one of our young fans let us see what the GodTalk Radio Show looks like to her. (See picture above -- a masterful montage that comes courtesy of Dave's daughter, Nicole.) I love it ...
... and I'd love to see what the radio show looks like to you!
p.s.: We've got some great new music cuing up the show this year. The new tunes go live on Sunday, September 28, but here's a
sneak peak.

The New Year of Godtalk;
Godtalk- The Radio Show-- Godthink?
Is it worth the bother?
While thinking about this this last week I ran across an article on the economics of tithing.What has this got to do with GodTalk? We will see.
From the USA Today last week on tithing and financial planning
“I’ve had home owners who face foreclosure sitting in front of me saying, ‘I’ll do anything, anything to keep my home,” said Ozell Brooklin, director of Acorn Housing in Atlanta, a nonprofit which offers foreclosure counseling. “But after we’ve gone through their monthly expenses and the only thing left to cut is their tithe, they say ‘I guess this home is not for me’ and they walk away,” he said.
John Templeton the investment guru who guided the Templeton Growth fund 'Templeton Mountain '
when asked the most basic rule for investors; he replied...........'Tithing'
Why would these two say this? It seems so counter intuitive in our our time .
Tithing seems important for funding the spirit but also provides each of us with an accurate an economic report card, quickly telling you if you are living within your means.
In the same way 10 % Godthink in our daily goings on is like a tithe. If we think about the week's news whether social, political or econmical,in context of our own purpose, ie in terms of Godtalk we will get a quick and likely accurate report card on our own choices.
The radioshow Godtalk?
Despite all the commercials it does help us tithe spiritually. Much luck for the new season.
PS CERN, leaking liquid hydrogen into its caverns , may be down for now , but the search for the God Particle is not.It may be just over your pillow.
E=MC**2
Einstein: brilliant, as always.
See my latest post for my own (unscientific) speculations on the proximity between God and my pillow (or any other place of rest).
